Mickey gave me a daily labor rate, using 3 man, 4 man, and 5 man crews. I was impressed with his integrity of adjusting the size of the crews as needed. Most of the work was done with 3-man crews. He did all of the leg work in purchasing and delivering the paint, caulking, and other supplies as needed.

I have used an expensive 10 year+ exterior paint since the house was built. He was able to purchase the paint at a sizable discount over what I would have had to pay. He passed his discount on to me, without markup, which I greatly appreciated. I was particularly impressed at his knowledge and experience and recommendations over what we had previously done in painting and maintaining the house which is 19 years old.

He specifically did an excellent job in re-priming the steel railing to eliminate rust forming under the paint and blistering within a year, as I have experienced with previous painters. They then hand painted the railings with a much better metal paint than previously used.

They also completely sanded and refinished a mahogany stained glass front door and side stained glass windows. Mickey suggested and used a marine varnish which proved to be superior to what previous painters had used. In summary, I am completely satisfied with Mickey’s professionalism, knowledge of painting, and particularly his honesty and integrity–which seems to be lacking in today’s world.

I was very pleased at the total cost of the job, including labor, paint, and materials. I was charged a very fair price for the professional work done. I highly recommend Red Letter Painting and Mickey Mitchell. Also, it’s a small world, in that I met Mickey’s wife who works for my Dentist.
